Teacher Technology Profile

Greetings.

We have completely revised the Teacher Technology Profile in an attempt to acknowledge the evolutionary process our use of technology has undergone these last few years. We encourage you to consider these points as you assess your individual and classroom uses of technology:

This reflects our belief that the PPS staff is all using technology at some level.

This reflects our acknowledgement of your growth and continued efforts to “get better at what you are doing.” We had to adjust the profile accordingly.

These adjustments may cause your overall “score” to be lower than your scores from previous years.

Please understand that this is a normal consequence of this type of adjustment! The standards were raised and changed. This year’s data will become our new baseline.

Most importantly, please know that these profiles and the data you submit are actually used to help us design and deliver staff development opportunities to you in a more effective and efficient manner. These profiles are viewed as evidence of what you know and can already do, and can help determine a progressive direction in which to head.

These are general suggestions.

These are not complete profiles; we could never compile that kind of list!

You do not have to do everything that is listed!

Please assign yourself an assessment level that most closely reflects how you are presently using the available technology.

If you find you need further suggestions regarding the types of technology activities and skills that would indicate a particular level of proficiency, please view our more comprehensive listings online at:
